A CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION:
Today marks a historic holiday that celebrated Alberta’s principal economy of years past. Children got to stay home from school on the second Friday of every June in celebration. It was a big deal.
With farming still a strong force in the Alberta economy there has been a resurgence of the celebration of Farmer’s Day, largely in part due to UFA’s revival of the tradition of Farmer’s Day as a way to honour the contributions of Alberta farmers and the agriculture industry in 2010.
